Congratulations to Derica Elogious - 2018 Bishop of Parramatta Awards for Student Excellence recipient.
Each year, the Bishop of Parramatta Awards for Student Excellence recognise the achievements Year 12 students from Catholic schools across the Diocese.
This year's recipient from Nagle College was our College Captain, Derica Elogious. Her citation below shows why Derica was a deserved recipient.
Derica Elogious has held the lantern high in her years at Nagle College, providing witness to the Gospel values.
She has been inspired by Nano Nagle's service to those in need through her participation in the Winter Sleepout, Project Compassion and the Vinnies Van.
Derica has served the school faithfully as school captain, leading by example at the weekly school Mass.
She is a gifted public speaker and debater who has represented the school with distinction. Derica has ensured that she has been a focused and committed learner who has achieved at the highest levels across her programme of studies.
She is an active member of her parish, providing youth leadership and service.
Derica is a person of faith, an outstanding student and an inspiring leader.

๐ Exciting news!๐ Year 10 students recently completed a 5-day STEM workshop with MECA and ACU, exploring robotics, coding, and engineering. ๐งฌโ๏ธYear Seven Science and Maths Day ๐งฌโ๏ธ Today, Year Seven engaged in a range of exciting activities related to Science and Maths. They were able to consistently put their thinking caps on to explore a wide variety of activities that allowed them to use their mathematical and scientific prior knowledge. Year Sevens were split into friendly groups, supporting collaborative learning and were guided by Year 10 Student Leaders to experience the power of Presentation People. They all raced around the school completing a scavenger hunt in hopes of placing first and celebrating the team victory. ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ฌ๐งฎ They embodied the message of โNagle Girls can do anythingโ with their hard work and determination throughout all activities, embracing challenges as fun and exciting ways to grow. Growth mindsets were implemented when problem-solving to effectively find the solution and use it as a learning opportunity. They should all be proud of their efforts and enthusiasm to put in 100% work. Well done! ๐๐
