On Friday the 6th of June, I had the pleasure of taking ten Year 10 students to the Blacktown City Council Ignite Forum.
The forum allowed visiting students to have their say on a number of strategic plans affecting the future of Blacktown. The students were able to represent the future of Blacktown and express their concerns and ideas.
As always, the students were fantastic on the day and it was great to see them actively participating with members of other schools from the community. Thank you to the following students:

Nagle College Launches New STEM Scholarship for Future Innovators
Nagle College Blacktown has announced the launch of the โChristine Howe STEM Academic Scholarshipโ, a new opportunity designed to support and inspire young women passionate about STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Students enrolling in Year 7 from 2026 are eligible to apply for the scholarship, which reflects the Collegeโs ongoing commitment to excellence in learning within a supportive Catholic community.

๐ฆ๐ Our Year 7 students visited Sydney Zoo as part of their Science studies on classification and adaptations ๐งฌ๐. Despite the warm weather ๐ฅต, everyone had a fantastic time observing animals up close and discovering how each species is uniquely suited to its environment ๐ฟ๐. It was a great opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-life examples ๐โจ.

Five of our faith-filled Year 10 students began to spiritually prepare themselves for the upcoming Australian Catholic Youth Festival being hosted in Melbourne at the end of this year ๐โจ. Our Year 9 students enjoyed a wonderful day of learning outside the classroom with a field trip to Collaroy and Narrabeen Beach. As part of their Geography topic โEnvironmental Change and Management,โ students had the opportunity to analyse the interactions and connections between people, places and the environment. They also assessed the management strategies of coastal environments and discussed how these strategies support long-term sustainability. With beautiful weather and engaging fieldwork activities, it was a fun and meaningful day of hands-on learning by the coast! โ๏ธ๐๏ธ
