๐ Walk the Talk Awards 2025 ๐ On Thursday, 6 November 2025, our incredible Year 9 students attended an evening at NSW Parliament House for the Walk The Talk Awards. An inspiring initiative focused on womenโs empowerment and supporting local womenโs shelters. ๐ช๐ Nagle College proudly supports the Parramatta Womenโs Shelter, and our students were recognised for their outstanding organisation and dedication to this important cause. ๐โจ The girls were flying high on the optimism of the event, and their enthusiasm left a lasting impression on the Walk The Talk organisers, board members, and shelter community. Weโre also excited to announce that Nagle College will be the first school to create a podcast featuring Tania Smith, Manager of the Parramatta Womenโs Shelter - stay tuned! ๐๏ธ๐ซ @womenscommunityshelters

๐ Hey Nagle Community! ๐ As we approach the Christmas season, many families in our local Mt Druitt area are finding it difficult to afford the groceries needed to host a festive Christmas lunch or dinner. This year, weโre partnering with Jesuit Social Services (JSS) to support families in need through their 2025 Christmas Appeal. โค๏ธ Weโre inviting everyone to bring in donations from the โTop 20 Desired Christmas Itemsโ list in the picture. ๐๏ธ Collections will remain open until Monday, December 8. ๐โจ Literature Dress Up Day! โจ๐ โYES to new adventures!โ ๐๐ซ Our students came dressed as characters from books and movies who embarked on exciting adventures - exploring new worlds, embracing new experiences, and overcoming challenges! ๐๐ The day featured a dress up parade and prizes for the best dressed characters. ๐๐ญ It was a wonderful celebration of creativity, imagination, and the joy of reading! ๐๐

Today we paused to remember. Our school community came together for a meaningful Remembrance Day ceremony to honour the bravery, service, and sacrifice of those who have fought and served in times of war, conflict, and peacekeeping. Students and staff reflected on the importance of remembering those who gave their lives for our freedom and those who continue to serve our country today. Through readings, music, laying of wreaths and a moment of silence, we paid our respects and expressed our gratitude for their courage and dedication. ๐บ Lest we forget.

๐ฑ Recently, our Year 8 students took part in an engaging incursion exploring the impact of social media on their daily lives. The session encouraged students to think critically about: โจ The purpose of social media and how it shapes our interactions โจ The unrealistic expectations often created online โจ The difference between our digital selves and our real selves Through meaningful discussions and activities, students reflected on how what we share online can influence how others see us โ and how it can sometimes distance us from authentic relationships and experiences. It was a valuable opportunity for students to pause, reflect, and explore how they can use social media in more mindful and positive ways. ๐ฟ Go Year 8! ๐

๐บ Recently, our amazing Year 11 Pasifika students headed to Western Sydney University for the Check It Out Campus Tour with the PATHE team! ๐โจ They took part in inspiring workshops on critical thinking, social sciences, and music ๐ถ - gaining valuable insights into what university life has to offer. ๐ก๐ It was such an awesome opportunity for our girls to explore their future pathways and dream big! ๐๐
